FAQ’s

Q: What form of payments do you accept?

A: We accept: Cash, E-transfer, Mastercard & Visa. We do not accept: Debit Card, Cheque or American Express.

Q: Do you have insurance?

A: Yes, Shortline has insurance for the content we transport. Our level of insurance is based on the services that you utilize from Shortline for your move. If you have questions or concerns about the insurance you are entitled to, one of our sales representatives will be happy to assist you.

Q: Do you work on weekends and/or holidays?

A: Shortline operates Monday – Saturday. Move requests on Federal holidays will be booked on a case-by-case basis.

Q: Are there items that you can’t transport?

A: We are unable to transport matches, propane, oil, paint, aerosols and other inflammable materials. Items such as lawn mowers must be drained of fuel before we are able to transport them.

Q: Do you transport plants?

A: Yes. We do transport plants, however they are shipped at owners risk. This is because we can not ensure that the plant will survive the conditions of being outdoors in Manitoba’s extreme heat/cold.

Q: How do you charge?

A: On residential and commercial moves, we charge on an hourly basis. Our clock starts when we leave our office and ends when we return from your move. Moves within Winnipeg have no fuel surcharges or hidden fees outside of our hourly rate. Specialty items such as piano or hot tub moves may be quoted on a fixed price basis. Our moving staff will review the charges with you prior to accepting payment.

Q: Do I remove the content from my dresser?

A: Any clothing, linens or soft content may be left inside your dressers. Hard content (eg: electronics, candles or books) that could cause damage during transport should be removed from the dresser.

Q: Do you protect the floors of my home?

A: Yes our team will come equipped with floor-runners that will cover the main pathways of your home.

Q: What areas do you service?

A: We service Manitoba, North-Western Ontario and moves between Manitoba-Saskatchewan.

Q: Is it customary to tip moving staff?

A: Yes. If you feel like the service provided to you was exemplary, you are welcome to show your appreciation to our staff. 100% of tips are given to the movers that served you.
